Setup

1. Create inventory import
   Room 58 set this up initially from our end.
   
   

2. How do I connect my Lightspeed POS account to the Room58 admin panel?
   Inside mBWS, you need to go to Inventory → Imports. Then click on the settings icon next to your import. A button will display on the page, you need to click on this and then follow the on-screen instructions to connect your account.
   
   

3. Select categories for import
   The import is split into two sections - bikes and non-bikes. The categories shown on the screen are the top level categories. You need to select the top level category that contains all of your bikes. The system will automatically select the ones underneath. If you are having an e-commerce section, you should select the relevant non-bike categories as well.
   
   

4. Run the inventory import
   From the Inventory → Imports screen, you can press the “Initiate” button to run the import. This will run in the background so you can leave the screen at this point.
   
   

5. Check the inventory
   Once the import has been completed, you can look in the Inventory → Manage inventory section to see what was imported successfully. Everything in this section will have matched an item in our database, so should have pictures, descriptions etc.
   
   

6. Check the unmatched inventory
   The unmatched inventory will contain everything we couldn’t find a match for. This will most likely be because we don’t stock that brand data. It is also possible that you have SKUs that we are unaware of for brands we do stock. At this point, we can figure out what data we need to get. If we get the data at any point, the items in this list can be deleted. When the import next runs, it should match them up and work correctly.

Categories

On the category selection screen, we just show the top level categories. When selecting a top level category, everything underneath is selected automatically. For bikes, the names of the categories don’t matter as everything will just go into the inventory.

For non-bikes, we take the category name that is in Lightspeed and use that as the category name in the e-commerce shop. So, the names of the categories in Lightspeed are important as these will be reflected inside your e-commerce shop. These categories can be renamed from inside the Ecwid platform if you desire once everything is synced.
